Go Club Update

The first meeting for my attempt at starting a Go club on campus is approaching. There is no set date yet, but I am hoping that we will get started on Friday of next week. If not then definitely the week after that.

The main focus of this post is the poster that I have created to spread the word. It is still a work in progress but once it is finished I will post a pdf file of the poster on this blog. For now I am just posting a preview to hopefully get some critiques or suggestions. Oh, and also, before anyone jumps on my back for stealing the general design from a certain poster on the American Go Association website, yes, I did take a lot of inspiration from this poster, because I liked it, but thought I could improve upon it.

Here is the poster as it stands currently:

UPDATE: Reading this post again the next day, I just discovered that about two or three of the paragraphs that I had written have vanished! Since I have class in 20 minutes, here is a quick synopsis of what I meant to say:

-The poster is inspired by this poster off of the American Go Association website, which I liked but thought I could improve upon.

-I meant to include a bit about how I did not originally intend to have the "Want to learn?" part included in the poster, not out of conceit or elitism, but because the idea of teaching Go to someone else scares the crap out of me. I am already a shy person, and just starting the club in the first place is a bit of a challenge. So, if anyone has taught before or has any suggestions of teaching methods, or the order in which to introduce new concepts, etc., then any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the accident! I will pay more attention next time.

Until Friday,
-BuddytheRat
